Vehicle Violation – No Driver’s License Issued – Cited

19th Ave & Sloat Blvd
Officers were conducting LDAR speed enforcement and observed a vehicle traveling 68 mph in a 30 mph zone. Officer conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that he was never issued a driver’s license. The driver was cited.

Assault – Arrested

400 Victoria St
Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident. The victim told dispatch that he gotten into an argument with the suspect during which he was struck with an iron and stabbed with a fork. The victim reported to the officers that he had a broken leg and had been spending most of the day laying in his bed and drinking beer. The suspect walked in, started yelling at him and demanded the victim to leave the house. The suspect then grabbed an iron and threw it at the victim, which struck him on the forearm. The victim refused to leave so the suspect picked up a fork and used it to scratch the victim’s shins. The victim called the police and after further investigation, responding officers arrested the suspect.

Shoplifting – Cited

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained. Loss prevention told the officers that he observed the suspect take several store items and bring it into the fitting room. The loss prevention agent went to the fitting room and heard the sounds of the merchandise sensors being tampered with. The loss prevention agent then observed the  suspect exit the store without paying for any of the items and moved to detain the suspect. After further investigation, responding officers cited the suspect for shoplifting.

Theft From Vehicle – Possession of Burglary Tools – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a person attempting to break into a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and observe two suspects next to the vehicle. One of the suspects was trying to unlock a vehicle while a second suspect was looking in the window and assisting the first suspect. The officers detained the suspects and were told that the vehicle belonged to one of the suspect’s aunts and she had locked the keys in the vehicle. However, a computer check on the vehicle revealed that it had been stolen out of Watsonville. A computer check on the suspects also revealed that one of them had a warrant for their arrest. After further investigation, the suspects were arrested.
