Resisting or Obstructing Peace Officers Duty – Traffic Violation – Cited

Officers observed a vehicle that was stopped but idling and did not have any license plates. The officers initiated a traffic stop and approached the vehicle to observe a thick white cloud of smoke, which smelled of burnt marijuana, exiting the passenger’s side window. Officers gathered the occupant’s information and a computer check revealed that one of the occupants in the vehicle gave false information about his identity. The driver of the vehicle was cited for not having license plates on his vehicle and released along with one other passenger. The passenger who lied about his identity was transported to Taraval station, where officers learn his true identity and cited him for obstructing officer’s duties.

Shoplifting – Parole Violation – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter. The witness, a loss prevention agent of the store, reported that he recognized the suspect who had entered as the same suspect who had also shoplifted at a different store. The witness stated that he kept watch on the suspect and observed him take three items of merchandise before exiting the store and not paying for them. The witness confronted the suspect and escorted him to the responding officers for investigation. As the suspect was acting both aggressively and strangely, the suspect was taken to the hospital for assessment before being arrested for the shoplifting and parole violation.

Stay Away Order – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a stay away order violation. Officers arrived on scene and detained the suspect matching the description given by the victim. The victim stated that she heard a knock on the door earlier in the morning and heard the suspect asking to be let in. The responding officers confirmed that the victim had a current stay away order against the suspect and arrested the suspect for the violation.
