Possession of Stolen Property \u2013 Possession Burglary Tools \u2013 Methamphetamine Offense \u2013 Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 12:24 am<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 1400 La Playa St<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n Officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress.\u00a0The victim, the owner \u00a0who had just come home while the suspect was trying to break into the house, reported that he had met the suspect a week before when the suspect had ridden by on his motorcycle and asked questions about how to improve it. The victim believed that the motorcycle during the suspect’s first visit was stolen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A witness also reported that the suspect was observed shaking a gate to see if it was unlocked and continued to watch as the suspect then looked into a parked truck that was parked nearby. The suspect then proceeded to a second house and also shook the gate in front of it before getting on a motorcycle nearby and fidgeting with it. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A computer check on the motorcycle confirmed that it was stolen, that the suspect was on probation and a search located numerous items that are commonly used to break into homes and vehicles. The officers also located Methamphetamine on the suspect.\u00a0The suspect was arrested.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Assault \u2013 Shoplifting<\/span><\/strong><\/span>

\n Officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim, a loss prevention employee, stated that the suspect was observed walking into the store and was recognized as someone with a past history of shoplifting in the store. The suspect attempted to walk out of the store with two bottles of wine without paying and was detained by the victim and another employee. However, the suspect picked up and threw several pieces of wood, that were nearby on the floor, at the victim before successfully fleeing. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
