{"id":4822,"date":"2015-09-01T19:26:09","date_gmt":"2015-09-02T02:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.taraval.org\/?p=4822"},"modified":"2015-09-01T19:26:09","modified_gmt":"2015-09-02T02:26:09","slug":"daily-crime-report-sun-aug-30-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taraval.org\/?p=4822","title":{"rendered":"Daily Crime Report :: Sun \u2013 Aug 30, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>*** Not all crimes are reported in the daily report ***<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Suspicious Occurrence \u2013 Under the Influence in a Public Place &#8211; Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 4:10 am<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 2000 17th Ave<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Officers responded to a report of a subject pounding on the door and yelling.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When the officers arrived, they noticed a broken window\u00a0and were able to\u00a0locate the subject\u00a0who showed\u00a0obvious signs of being intoxicated. The officers also\u00a0determined that the subject had an argument with her boyfriend in the house. In order not escalate the argument, the subject left the house to cool off. However, the\u00a0boyfriend locked the doors and refused her entry\u00a0so the\u00a0subject broke a\u00a0window and attempted to climb back into the house. The officers made attempts to contact someone to care for the intoxicated subject but they were unable to do so. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">The officers arrested the subject and transported her to the drunk tank.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Assault &#8211; Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 12:28 pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> Yorba St &amp; 36th Ave<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Officers responded to a report of a physical altercation between a male and female\u00a0and responding officers were able to locate the parties who\u00a0were involved. The victim stated that they were in a vehicle with\u00a0the suspect was driving. The victim was about to drink from a soda can when the suspect slammed on the brakes which caused\u00a0her to spill her drink. The victim stated that\u00a0she voiced her opinions to the suspect and the suspect hit her. The victim stated that they started\u00a0to fight with each other until the police showed up. A witness also told the officers what he had observed. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">The suspect was later arrested for the assault.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Warrant Arrest \u2013 Resisting or Delaying Arrest \u2013 Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 10:40 am<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 3600 Taraval St<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Officers responded to a report of a possible suspect\u00a0trying\u00a0to break into a building. Upon arrival, the officers located a\u00a0suspect matching the description in front of the building. The suspect also saw the officers and attempted to flee the scene by running away from the officers. The officers caught\u00a0up to the suspect and detain him. After an inspection, the\u00a0officers were able to determine that there\u00a0were\u00a0no damages made to the building\u00a0and no entry was made. However, a computer check of the suspect revealed an outstanding warrant for his arrest.<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> The suspect was arrested.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Vehicle violations \u2013 No Driver\u2019s Licenses issued \u2013 Cited<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 9:43 pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 19th Ave &amp; Junipero Serra Blvd<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">An officer was on patrolling\u00a0when he observed a vehicle driving without it&#8217;s\u00a0lights on. The officer followed the vehicle and determined that he was going 42 mph on a posted 30 mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that he had only a driver\u2019s permit with restrictions. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">The driver was cited.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Trespassing \u2013 Resisting or Delaying \u2013 Municipal Code Violation \u2013 Cited<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 1:18 pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 2900 San Jose Ave<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Officers responded to a gas station regarding a suspect inside the store eating food that was unpaid and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, the\u00a0officers located the suspect and detained her\u00a0but the\u00a0suspect refused to give them her name and information. However, a\u00a0responding officer recognized the suspect from a previous incident when they also had to escort her off a\u00a0property.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #993300;\">The suspect was cited for the above violation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Speeding \u2013 Driving Under the Influence \u2013 Suspended Driver\u2019s License \u2013 Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> 6:52 pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\"> Sloat Blvd &amp; 22nd Ave<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">An officer was in the area conducting traffic enforcement using LIDAR. The officer observed a vehicle traveling 50-55 mph in a 35 mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver told the officer that she did not have her driver\u2019s license on her but\u00a0provided her passport. While speaking to the officer, the driver presented\u00a0obvious signs of intoxication such as\u00a0smelling\u00a0of\u00a0alcohol, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. The officer conducted a sobriety test which the driver failed.
