Theft \u2013 Possession of Stolen Property<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 3:00pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n Irving St & 9th Ave<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n Captain Cherniss was on patrol of Irving St and 9th Ave when he was approached by a witness. The witness told Captain Cherniss that she saw a suspect in possession of mail that that did not belong to the suspect. The witness saw the suspect discard the mail on to the ground. The witness picked up the discarded mail and provided it to Captain Cherniss and pointed him out. Captain Cherniss detained the suspect and conducted a consensual search. In the suspect\u2019s possession was a small Amazon box that had a name and delivery address that was not the suspect’s. The mail that was discarded also did not belong to the suspect. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. The officers made contact with the victim, the rightful owner of the Amazon box. The victim told the officers that she was informed the package had arrived, but she was unable to get it. The victim presumed the delivery person would secure the package inside the front gate, however she was not sure if that had happened or not. The suspect was arrested.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Transportation of Marijuana \u2013 No Drivers License Issued \u2013 Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span>

\n 19th Ave & Lawton St<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle making an illegal left turn\u00a0and\u00a0conducted a traffic stop. As the officers approached the vehicle, they noticed a strong odor of marijuana\u00a0emanating\u00a0\u00a0from inside. A computer check on the driver revealed that he did\u00a0not have a driver\u2019s license and there was a warrant for his arrest. Officers searched the vehicle and located a large amount of marijuana in individually packaged plastic bags. The suspect was arrested.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
