Traffic Collision \u2013 Probation Violation \u2013 Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 11:51 am<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 24th Ave & Lawton St<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n An officer was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle which matched the\u00a0description of a suspect’s car that had been committing numerous vehicle thefts. The officer attempted to approach the suspicious vehicle but it sped off at a high speed, running several stop signs in the process. Because of the unsafe manner the vehicle was being driven, the officers did not attempt to chase the vehicle further. However, the suspect hit another vehicle into a fire hydrant several blocks later which caused the suspect’s\u00a0car to be inoperable. The suspects exited their vehicle\u00a0and fled the scene. \u00a0<\/span>The officer provided the descriptions and related the situation to the officers responding to the scene of the car accident and two of the three suspects were located. \u00a0It was also determined that one of the suspects being detained was\u00a0a passenger in the vehicle and\u00a0she was later released. \u00a0<\/span>The driver was arrested for hit and run and probation violation.\u00a0\u00a0The case regarding the theft of vehicles will be investigated in conjunction with\u00a0the hit and run \/ probation violation incident.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Burglary of a Store \u2013 Arrested<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 1:23 pm<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n 3200 20th Ave<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter. Loss Prevention observed the suspect carrying around clothes and candy. Loss Prevention then saw the suspect select a comforter and then carried all the items to upstairs. \u00a0The suspect noticed he was being followed by Loss Prevention, went to speak to a cashier before going back downstairs\u00a0and exiting\u00a0the store without paying for any of the items. The suspect was arrested for burglarizing the store.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
