In my message posted on Friday the 24th, I discussed our efforts in addressing this crime trend which has impacted so many of you. Our efforts have included increased uniformed patrols, community outreach and undercover surveillance. Since President\u2019s Day weekend, we have utilized Taraval Station\u00a0resources as well as our department resources to assist with the investigations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Sunday, February 26, 2017, members of the San Francisco Police Department Night Investigations Unit (NIU) arrested a known burglary suspect after witnessing him enter a home in the area of 37th and Taraval. On this evening, the suspect entered a residence using a crow bar\u00a0through the front gate,\u00a0on a house that was currently under construction. Shortly after exiting the residence, the suspect was taken in to custody. In this case, the suspect was on probation for burglary and had recently been arrested by the Taraval Neighborhood Team. Officers conducted a probation search of his residence for further evidence of burglaries he may have committed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">While this is not the suspect responsible for the President\u2019s Day burglary series, this is a great arrest against further burglaries in the area. Thank you to the members of NIU and Taraval station for your continued commitment to the prevention of burglaries as well as the identification and apprehension of burglary suspects. While this arrest is a good example of our efforts in the area, it does not mean our efforts will decrease. Our commitment is driven by public safety and ensuring the residents of the Taraval district are confident in our ability to protect the community we serve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the past week, I have received many emails and calls from residents asking how they can safe guard their homes against burglaries. I have listed a number of steps that you can take to harden your home as a possible target. Also, we work in partnership with SFSafe to address these same questions. SFSafe offers a complimentary evaluation of your home where they will outline areas that you can focus on in making your home less attractive to burglary suspects. For more information, please call me at Taraval station or visit their website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfsafe.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.sfsafe.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During this past week of surveillance, officers have seen homes with garage doors and entry way gates that have been left open. Please ensure that you take the time to secure your garage doors\u00a0and\u00a0entry way gates as well as doors that lead into the garage area or to\u00a0the in-law area. It is the practice of burglars to check residences for unlocked gates and garage doors. I also strongly encourage all of you to get to know your neighbors. Look out for each other. Your observations of your neighborhoods are extremely valuable. Please continue to share that information with us as we work in partnership with you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Friday, March 3 at 11:30 am I will be holding at meeting at the Self Help for the Elderly Center located on 40th and Vicente (2601 40th Ave) This is our opportunity to meet with members of the outer sunset regarding concerns around crime. I will be joined by members of Supervisor Katy Tang\u2019s office and the SFPD Community Engagement Office. Within the Taraval district, there is a large Asian community and\u00a0we will have translators available at the meeting and I encourage residents to please join us in the href=\"mailto:denise.flaherty@sfgov.org\">denise.flaherty@sfgov.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u5f88\u591a\u4eba\u7e7c\u7e8c\u5411\u6211\u53cd\u6620\u5c0d\u8fd1\u671f\u5916\u65e5\u843d\u5340\u7206\u7aca\u6848\u4e0a\u5347\u7684\u95dc\u6ce8\u3002\u6211\u572824\u865f\u661f\u671f\u4e94\u8cbc\u51fa\u7684\u901a\u8a0a\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e5f\u5411\u5927\u5bb6\u8ac7\u53ca\u6253\u64ca\u9019\u7cfb\u5217\u7206\u7aca\u6848\u7684\u90e8\u7f72\u65b9\u6cd5\uff0c\u7576\u4e2d\u5305\u62ec\u589e\u52a0\u8ecd\u88dd\u8b66\u54e1\u5de1\u908f\u3001\u793e\u5340\u5916\u5c55\u53ca\u4fbf\u88dd\u63a2\u54e1\u76e3\u8996\u3002\u81ea\u5f9e\u7e3d\u7d71\u65e5\u9031\u672b\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5df2\u5145\u5206\u52d5\u7528Taraval\u5206\u5c40\u53ca\u7e3d\u5c40\u7684\u8cc7\u6e90\u5354\u52a9\u8abf\u67e5\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u57282017\u5e742\u670826\u65e5\u661f\u671f\u65e5\uff0c\u4e09\u85e9\u5e02\u8b66\u5bdf\u5c40\u591c\u9593\u8abf\u67e5\u7d44(NIU)\u76ee\u7779\u4e00\u540d\u7206\u7aca\u7a4d\u72af\u9032\u516537th\u593eTaraval\u4e00\u6240\u4f4f\u5b85\uff0c\u5176\u5f8c\u5c07\u4ed6\u902e\u6355\u3002\u7576\u6642\u7591\u72af\u7528\u9435\u7b46\u64ac\u958b\u4e00\u9593\u6b63\u5728\u65bd\u5de5\u7684\u6c11\u5c45\u524d\u9580\u5927\u9598\uff0c\u4e0d\u591a\u4e45\u7591\u72af\u8981\u96e2\u958b\u6642\u4fbf\u7576\u5834\u88ab\u6355\u3002\u9019\u6848\u4ef6\u88ab\u6355\u7684\u7591\u72af\u539f\u4f86\u6d89\u53ca\u53e6\u4e00\u7206\u7aca\u6848\uff0c\u66fe\u88abTaraval\u8b66\u54e1\u62d8\u6355\uff0c\u6b63\u5728\u5047\u91cb\u4e2d\u3002\u4e8b\u5f8c\u8b66\u54e1\u641c\u67e5\u4ed6\u7684\u5bd3\u6240\uff0c\u4ee5\u8490\u96c6\u4ed6\u53ef\u80fd\u6d89\u53ca\u5176\u4ed6\u7206\u7aca\u6848\u7684\u8b49\u7269\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u96d6\u7136\u9019\u540d\u88ab\u6355\u7591\u72af\u8207\u7e3d\u7d71\u65e5\u9023\u4e32\u7206\u7aca\u6848\u7121\u95dc\uff0c\u4f46\u9019\u6b21\u62d8\u6355\u884c\u52d5\uff0c\u537b\u6709\u52a9\u904f\u6b62\u5340\u5167\u7206\u7aca\u6848\u3002\u591a\u8b1d\u591c\u9593\u8abf\u67e5\u7d44\u53caTaraval\u5206\u5c40\u540c\u50da\u52aa\u529b\u4e0d\u61c8\u53bb\u9810\u9632\u7206\u7aca\u6848\uff0c\u53ca\u627e\u51fa\u548c\u62d8\u6355\u7591\u72af\u3002\u96d6\u7136\u9019\u6b21\u884c\u52d5\u6e4a\u6548\uff0c\u4f46\u6211\u5011\u4e0d\u6703\u56e0\u6b64\u9b06\u61c8\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u627f\u8afe\u4fdd\u969c\u516c\u773e\u5b89\u5168\u53ca\u78ba\u4fddTaraval\u5206\u5c40\u8f44\u5340\u5c45\u6c11\u76f8\u4fe1\u6211\u5011\u6709\u80fd\u529b\u4fdd\u885b\u793e\u5340\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u5728\u904e\u53bb\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u661f\u671f\uff0c\u6211\u6536\u5230\u5f88\u591a\u5c45\u6c11\u96fb\u90f5\u53ca\u4f86\u96fb\uff0c\u67e5\u8a62\u5982\u4f55\u9632\u7bc4\u5165\u5c4b\u7206\u7aca\uff0c\u6211\u5217\u51fa\u4e86\u4e00\u4e9b\u65b9\u6cd5\u53ef\u4ee5\u4ee4\u60a8\u7684\u5c45\u6240\u66f4\u96e3\u6210\u70ba\u4e0b\u624b\u5c0d\u8c61\uff1b\u540c\u6642\uff0c\u4e09\u85e9\u5e02\u9632\u6b62\u7f6a\u6848\u8cc7\u6e90\u4e2d\u5fc3\u5728\u9019\u65b9\u9762\u4ea6\u53ef\u63d0\u4f9b\u5354\u52a9\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u53ef\u4ee5\u70ba\u60a8\u7684\u5c45\u6240\u4f5c\u51fa\u8a55\u4f30\uff0c\u544a\u8a34\u60a8\u54ea\u4e9b\u5730\u65b9\u8981\u52a0\u5f37\u4fdd\u5b89\uff0c\u8b93\u60a8\u7684\u5c45\u6240\u4e0d\u70ba\u532a\u5f92\u5782\u6d8e\u3002\u6b32\u77e5\u8a73\u60c5\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u81f4\u96fb\u7d66\u6211\uff0c\u6216\u5230\u4e09\u85e9\u5e02\u9632\u6b62\u7f6a\u6848\u8cc7\u6e90\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7db2\u7ad9\u700f\u89bd\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u7db2\u5740\uff1a<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfsafe.org\">www.sfsafe.org<\/a>\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u5728\u904e\u53bb\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u661f\u671f\u76e3\u8996\u884c\u52d5\u4e2d\uff0c\u8b66\u54e1\u767c\u73fe\u4e0d\u5c11\u6c11\u5c45\u8eca\u5eab\u9580\u6216\u5165\u53e3\u5927\u9598\u90fd\u6c92\u6709\u95dc\u4e0a\u3002\u8acb\u5927\u5bb6\u78ba\u4fdd\u95dc\u4e0a\u8eca\u5eab\u9580\u3001\u5165\u53e3\u9598\u9580\u53ca\u901a\u5f80\u8eca\u5eab\u6216\u59fb\u89aa\u55ae\u4f4d\u7684\u9580\uff0c\u7206\u7aca\u532a\u5f92\u6703\u67e5\u5bdf\u6c92\u6709\u4e0a\u9396\u7684\u5927\u9598\u6216\u8eca\u5eab\u9580\u3002\u6211\u4ea6\u5f37\u70c8\u9f13\u52f5\u5927\u5bb6\u8a8d\u8b58\u60a8\u7684\u9130\u5c45\uff0c\u5b88\u671b\u76f8\u52a9\uff0c\u60a8\u7559\u610f\u60a8\u7684\u9130\u5340\u662f\u975e\u5e38\u91cd\u8981\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u8207\u60a8\u5011\u4e26\u80a9\uff0c\u8acb\u7e7c\u7e8c\u8207\u6211\u5011\u5206\u4eab\u6709\u95dc\u4fe1\u606f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u57283\u67083\u65e5\u661f\u671f\u4e94\u4e0a\u534811\u664230\u5206\uff0c\u6211\u5c07\u5728\u4f4d\u65bc40th\u593eVicente\u7684\u5b89\u8001\u81ea\u52a9\u8655\uff082601 40<sup>th<\/sup> Ave\uff09\u8209\u884c\u793e\u5340\u6703\u8b70\u3002\u9019\u662f\u63a5\u89f8\u5916\u65e5\u843d\u5340\u5c45\u6c11\u53ca\u8046\u807d\u5c0d\u6cbb\u5b89\u95dc\u6ce8\u7684\u6a5f\u6703\uff0c\u5e02\u53c3\u4e8b\u6e6f\u51f1\u8482\u8fa6\u516c\u5ba4\u53ca\u4e09\u85e9\u5e02\u8b66\u5bdf\u5c40\u793e\u5340\u53c3\u8207\u8fa6\u516c\u5ba4\u4ea6\u6703\u51fa\u5e2d\u3002Taraval\u64c1\u6709\u9f90\u5927\u4e9e\u88d4\u793e\u5340\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5c46\u6642\u6703\u6709\u7ffb\u8b6f\uff0c\u6211\u9f13\u52f5\u5c45\u6c11\u51fa\u5e2d\u9019\u6b21\u793e\u5340\u6703\u8b70\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u6211\u611f\u8b1d\u81f4\u96fb\u53ca\u767c\u9001\u96fb\u90f5\u7d66\u6211\u7684\u6bcf\u4e00\u500b\u4eba\uff0c\u6211\u6b61\u8fce\u60a8\u5011\u7e7c\u7e8c\u806f\u7d61\u6211\uff0c\u6211\u7684\u96fb\u8a71\uff1a415-759-3100\uff0c\u6216\u76f4\u63a5\u96fb\u90f5\uff1a<a style=\"color: #000000;\">A\u00a0reminder:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Be a good neighbor; if you see someone going door to door and ringing door bells for no apparent reason, please call the police!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Although home burglaries may seem random in occurrence, there is an active\u00a0selection in process. Simply, homes are chosen based on several factors such as\u00a0an unoccupied home with easy\u00a0access (unlocked windows, doors, etc), the greatest amount of cover (to hide their actives from neighbors or pedestrians), and also homes with the fastest and easiest\u00a0escape routes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The following is a list of suggestions to minimize your risk by making your home look occupied and there for\u00a0unattractive to potential burglars: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make sure you do not put bicycles, leave bags, back packs or other items of value inside the front gate or an\u00a0alley that leads to the front door.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Use curtains on garage and basement windows.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Never leave notes on your door such as \u201cleave package with neighbors\u201d as\u00a0burglars will know that you absolutely are not at home.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lock all outside doors and windows before you leave the house or go to bed. Even if it is for a short time, lock your doors!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Leave lights on when you go out. If you are going to be away for a length of time, connect some lamps to automatic timers to turn them on in the evening and off during the day.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Keep your garage door closed and locked<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Don\u2019t allow daily deliveries of mail, newspapers or flyers build up while you are away. Arrange with the Post Office to hold your mail, or arrange for a friend or neighbor to take them regularly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Take your garage door opener with you if you park your vehicle outside.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you hear the door bell ring or have an announced visitor, you do not have to answer it. But make some noise or have it seen that the house is occupied.The most common way to\u00a0force entry through a door with a wooden jamb is to simply kick it open. The weakest point is almost always the lock strike plate that holds the latch or lock bolt in place. The average door strike plate is secured only by the soft-wood doorjamb molding. These lightweight moldings are often nailed on to the door frame and can be torn away with a firm kick. Sliding-Glass Patio Doors can be defeated by the latch or just breaking the glass.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Make sure your home is secured and hard to break in to:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No lock, regardless of its quality, can be truly effective. Key-in dead bolt locks provide minimum security. Ask a locksmith for advice on your situation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Consider upgrading the slide\u00a0glass to a heavy duty unbreakable glass.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Secure all accessible windows with secondary blocking devices.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Block accessible windows so they can be open to no\u00a0more than 6 inches for ventilation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make sure someone cannot reach through an open window and unlock a\u00a0door.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make sure someone cannot reach inside the window and remove the blocking device(s).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Use anti-lift devices to prevent windows from being lifted out.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Change locks immediately if your keys are lost or stolen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When moving into a new home, have all locks changed immediately.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pushbutton locks on doorknobs are easy for burglars to open. Install deadbolt locks on all your outside doors instead.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Have adequate exterior lighting. A motion-sensitive light is recommended for backyards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Trim trees and shrubs so that they cannot be used as hiding places for intruders especially at the entrance way.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Install Security Cameras<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make sure you engrave all expensive items you have with your driver license number\u00a0or other identifiable information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you have a home alarm system, use it!\u00a0Alarm systems are only useful when you remember to activate them. Many burglars know this and will not be deterred by a window sticker or sign indicating that the home has an alarm system. Contact your alarm company and ask to shorten the time it takes for the alarm to notify the alarm company. Remember that thieves will have several minutes before the alarm will notify the security company that there has been a break in. From there, it will take several more minutes for the company to notify the police and for the police to arrive on scene.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your neighborhood may also be interested in being active as a group! \u96e2\u5bb6\u5916\u51fa\u524d\u7dca\u8a18\u628a\u9580\u7a97\u95dc\u9589\u4e0a\u9396\u3002\u4e00\u534a\u4ee5\u4e0a\u7684\u7206\u7aca\u4f5c\u6848\u90fd\u975e\u662f\u5f37<\/p>\n<p>\u7834\u5165\u5c4b\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n<p>2. \u00a0 \u00a0
