Taraval Station

Captain’s Message: Taken from Newsletter – November Week 3

Dear residents, merchants and the community stakeholders of the Taraval District,

My name is Robert Yick and I am the new commanding officer of Taraval Station. I am a fifth generation San Franciscan and grew up in Laurel Heights. I moved to several other neighborhoods and still maintain a residence in the city. I am grateful for the opportunity to be your new captain. I began my law enforcement career in 1992 at the University of California at Berkeley and laterally transferred to the San Francisco Police Department in 1994. My assignments include the patrol division at Central Station and Richmond Station; the Patrol Special Liaison at the Operations Bureau; criminal investigations at the Night Investigations Unit; Special Victims Unit and Mission Station, and administrative investigations at the Internal Affairs Division.
I am dedicated to working with the community, merchants and stakeholders to ensure that the Taraval District is safe place to reside and visit. My goal is to deliver the best police services to the public through strong community partnerships.
