The witness reported that the suspect was observed setting a chair on fire before putting a pallet on top of the fire. The fire was later extinguished by another person. Responding officers made contact with the suspect and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
Reckless Driving – Evading Police

19th Ave & Holloway Ave
Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle traveling at an unsafe rate of speed while changing lanes abruptly. The officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the vehicle immediately fled in a reckless manner and at a higher rate of speed. The officers did not pursue the vehicle due to the area’s level of pedestrian traffic.
Assault with a Gun

1600 45th Ave
Officers responded to the hospital regarding a shooting. The victim stated that he had been sitting in a vehicle when the suspect, his friend, had exited a house and approached him while accusing him of stealing. The suspect then fired a gun at the victim, which struck the victim’s hand.
Battery

Lincoln Way & Martin Luther King Dr
Officers responded to a report of someone that had been sprayed by bear repellant. Responding officers arrived at the location and made contact with the victim, who refused to talk to the officers and became uncooperative. The victim was later treated by medics at the scene.
Assault

100 Holloway Ave
Officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim, who was injured and bleeding, reported that he had been drinking before he was kicked in the face by the suspect but did not provide further information. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention but became uncooperative and spat at the officers, medics and hospital staff.
