Auto Burglary – Possession of Stolen Property – Case# 220330984

Central Police District
Officers from Taraval Station, Central Station, and Southern Station conducted an auto burglary abatement operation that was led by the Taraval Station’s plain clothes Sergeant. During the operation, the officers were notified by dispatch that a black coupe vehicle was committing auto burglaries in the Northern Police District. The officers conducted a search of the area and located a vehicle matching the description that was broadcasted by dispatch and followed the vehicle while conducting surveillance. Shortly afterwards, the passenger of the vehicle was observed shattering the window to a victim’s vehicle and stealing property that was inside. An attempt to use a spike strip was unsuccessful and the vehicle traveled towards the Bayview Police District and the officers observed random items being thrown out of the vehicle’s window before passenger exited the vehicle and entered a nearby building. The driver then parked, exited the vehicle and was arrested without further incident. A search located property belonging to multiple victims. The suspect was charged for vehicle burglary and possession of stolen property.

Officers responded to a report of a trespasser. The victim reported that they had heard a noise from the area of their gate and observed the suspect, via security camera, enter the victim’s backyard. The victim turned on the backyard lights and the suspect immediately left the area.
