The victim told the officers that the suspect, his in-law, was destroying the items in the bathroom. The victim confronted the suspect, and the suspect punched the victim and left the house.

Officers working Safe Shopper, which involved targeted enforcement for retail crimes and shopper safety, were alerted to a shoplifter who was also involved in a robbery a few days earlier. Officers were able to detain the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested for the previous robbery and cited for the shoplifting incident that had occurred.
