Trespassing – Attempted Shoplifting – Cited

700 Taraval St
Officers responded to a report of a suspect being detained and resisting for shoplifting. The witness, a manager, reported that he observed the suspect, with a known history of shoplifting, walk into the store.  After observing the suspect carry nine bottles of brandy inside his pants, the witness confronted and detained the suspect. After further investigation and at the request of the witness, responding officers cited the suspect for trespassing and advised him against theft. 

Carrying Concealed Weapon – Brandishing – Cited

2000 Irving St
Officers responded to a report of a person with a knife. The victim reported that the suspect entered the bakery while acting erratically and talking to himself before reaching into his back waistband and producing a knife. The suspect held the knife at shoulder length and commented about people “being mean” before replacing the knife. Responding officers cited the suspect before releasing him to a hospital.

Warrant Arrest – Arrested

Officers responded to serve an arrest warrant but the suspect was not home at the time. Officers requested that a relative at the house contact the suspect and ask him to return home. The suspect returned and was arrested.

Vehicle Violation – No Driver’s License Issued – Cited

Taraval St & 24th Ave
Officers observed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the vehicle revealed that the driver did not have a license. The driver was cited.

Battery – Elder Abuse – Arrested

1400 23rd Ave
Officers responded to a report of a person breaking into a residence. The victims reported that they were home when the suspect, their son, came back from getting a haircut and attempted to enter the house. The victims stated that they did not want the suspect to enter the house because they were scared he was high on methamphetamine. Also, earlier in the day, the suspect pushed them after an argument over money. Denied entry, the suspect threatened the victims verbally outside the front door and continued to ring the doorbell. After further investigation, responding officers arrested the suspect.
