Burglary – Possession of Stolen Property

Officers were approached down by a victim. The victim reported that he was asleep when he heard a loud noise from his garage. The victim went to investigate and found that multiple personal items had been taken from his vehicle and were scattered on the floor of the garage. Further away, the victim observed the suspect walking away from the building with a tool box.

The officers approached the suspect, who was fixing his bicycle with an open tool box next to him and multiple items scattered around the suspect. Upon questioning, the suspect stated that the tool box and items were all his. The victim positively identified the suspect and also confirmed that the items scattered around and the tool box was also his. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

200 Orizaba Ave
Officers responded to a report a battery incident. The witness stated that she heard an argument and saw that the suspect, her brother, was yelling at the victim before hitting the victim multiple times with a canvas grocery bag.  The victim, a postal employee, reported that he was delivering mail when he asked the suspect where he would like his mail placed. The suspect yelled out some words and used a soft bag and hit him a several times. The suspect then took his mail and left. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.

Officers observed a vehicle failing to make a complete stop at a posted stop sign. The officers conduced a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, who stated that he had left his driver’s license back at home. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check revealed that his license had been suspended. The driver was cited.

Battery

1800 Ocean Ave
Officers responded to a report of a battery incident. Responding officers spoke to the victim who reported that he was at the gym when the suspect claimed that the victim had tried to trip him and spat at his face. The suspect then left the gym prior to the officers arrival. 

Robbery
6:44 pm
1400 12th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The victim reported that he had just gotten off the LRV and was looking down at his home while walking home when an unknown suspect approached and demanded his laptop bag. The victim stated that he felt something press against his head and let go of his bag. The suspect took bag and fled into a waiting vehicle.
