Assault – Arrested
10:45 pm
1800 23rd Ave
Officers responded to a call of an assault. The victim reported that the suspect, her neighbor, was making enough noise that she was unable to sleep and she went upstairs to ask him to quiet down. The suspect opened the door and an argument ensued. The argument escalated and the suspect pushed the victim, causing her to fall backwards and on to the ground where she hurt her back. The suspect was located and arrested.

Robbery

3300 Kirkham St
Officers responded to a report of a robbery with a firearm. The victim reported that she was walking on Kirkham St when she observed the suspect approaching her. The suspect the pointed the firearm at her and demanded her belongings. The suspect then fled in a waiting vehicle with the stolen property.

Shoplifting – Arrested

3200 20th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting incident. The witness reported that she observed the two suspects select multiple items of store merchandise and placed them into an empty reusable bag. The suspects then entered a fitting room before attempting to leave the store with the stolen items. The suspects were detained without further incident. Responding officers conducted a computer check and after further investigation, the two suspects were arrested.

Battery

Taraval St & 28th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim reported that the LRV was slowing down to pick up passengers and he stepped out on to the streets, where a vehicle drove by and almost hit him. The victim swung his backpack at the vehicle which caused the suspect to get out of the vehicle and grab him. This caused the victim to kick the suspect. 

The suspect responded that the LRV hadn’t stopped and the doors were not open, so he slowly passed. When the victim hit the car with his backpack, the suspect got out and held on to the victim so he wouldn’t flee. The officers investigated the incident but neither party wanted to press charges.

Robbery Attempted

1300 25th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a robbery with a firearm. The reported that she had just exited her vehicle when the suspect approached her while holding a firearm. The suspect demanded her items but the victim ran towards the nearest houses, while screaming, and rang several doorbells causing the suspect to flee in a waiting vehicle.
