Battery

1200 Irving St
Officers responded to a report of a possible battery at Andronico’s Community Market. Responding officers made contact with the victim, who flagged them down immediately upon arrival and was visibly upset. The victim stated that he was homeless and was in front of the store asking for food or money when the male suspect, accompanied by an unknown female, walked pass the victim and insulted him. The victim responded with a return insult which caused the suspect to turn around and run towards the victim and knocking him to the ground. The suspect and his companion then left the area. Video surveillance was obtained for further investigation. 

Robbery

Moraga St & 38th Ave
Officers responded to the area of 37th Ave and Lincoln St for a call of a robbery. Upon arrival the officers were met by the victim who stated that there were three unknown suspects. The victim stated that he and his wife were in the car while it was parked. The victim got out and was attempting to close the driver door of his vehicle and was unable to close it due to suspect 1 holding on to the door while suspect 2 was right behind him with a knife. The suspects demanded that the victim to give them his wallet. At that point, suspect 1 reached into the victim’s vehicle and grabbed his cell phone. The victim reached into his wallet and took out approximately $70.00 in cash, where at that point suspect 1 then punched the victim one time above his left lip and took the money. Both suspect 1 and 2 ran to an unknown vehicle and were driven away by the 3rd suspect.

Evading Police officer- Theft from Vehicle

3200 20th Ave
Officers responded to Sonestown Galleria regarding a subject actively breaking into a vehicle. A witness stated that an adult male was observed removing several bags from the trunk of gray Acura and placing them into a white Integra. Responding officers located the white Integra and ordered it to stop but the Integra backed up evasively and swerved through oncoming traffic before fleeing the location. Officers made contact with owner of the gray Acura and took a report of the stolen items from the vehicle.  

Burglary – Theft from a Building – Arrested

2200 14th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a person acting irate and kicking over newspaper stands. The description dispatch given of the suspect matched a description of a known person who had a history of frequenting the area while  intoxicated. Responding officers located and detained the suspect. The suspect was also recognized as being named a person of interest for a burglary and package theft incident, which had occurred several days earlier. The suspect was later arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident. Responding officers located and made contact with the victim, who appeared distressed and frantic. The victim stated that he was in his room when the suspect suddenly entered and started yelling at him. The victim told the suspect to leave his room but the suspect refused. The victim attempted to record the suspect for proof of the incident but the suspect then attempted to light the victim’s mattress on fire. The victim threatened to call the police which caused the suspect to punch the victim several times before retreating back into his room.  After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
