Burglary – Theft from vehicle – Possession of Stolen Property – Arrested
9:22 am
100 South Lake Merced Hills
Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim reported that his roommate had noticed that the garage door had been opened and that multiple items were missing from both the garage and the upstairs portion of the house. The victim went to investigate and found that their missing items were laid out on a nearby grassy area of a parking lot next to the suspect. A witness, a security guard, reported that the suspect had been in the area the previous morning and was told to leave the area. The suspect was then also seen moving items via a recycle bin.

Responding officers located the suspect and detained him. When questioned, the suspect stated that he had been given permission to take the items by the owner and did not know why he was being detained. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
