Everglade Dr & Sloat Blvd
Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting in progress and that the suspect was in possession of a knife. Responding officers made contact with the witness, who stated that the suspect had fled the area. The officers successfully located the suspect but the suspect stated that it was his cousin that had stolen the items and not him. The suspect then failed to truthfully provide his name. The officers positively identified the suspect after further investigation and a computer search revealed that the suspect was on parole. The suspect was arrested.
