- Take pictures of your electronics, belongings, tools, etc. with serial numbers and or any distinctive features (engravings, name, phone numbers, etc.). This can be extremely helpful in recovering your property.
- Notify the police when you’re on vacation or if your home is under construction. The police can conduct passing calls on your home.
- Report any suspicious activity, people or vehicles in the area. Descriptions of suspicious people and vehicles are extremely helpful (i.e. vehicle license plates).
- Do not leave valuables in plain view. Store your valuables in a secure area.
- As a deterrent, place an alarm sign or decal in front of your house or window. Leaving a light on in your home can also serve as a great deterrent.
- Surveillance cameras have been extremely helpful in our investigations and in solving crimes.
