Catalytic Converter Theft – Case# 220763448

Officers responded to a report of an incident of catalytic converter theft. The victim provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was located by the responding officers. The officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspect immediately fled at a high rate of speed. The officers did not pursue the suspect, due to community safety concerns. Shortly afterwards, dispatch reported a traffic collision in which the vehicle had struck a pole. The officers arrived at the location to find the suspect’s abandoned vehicle and a search revealed multiple catalytic converters inside the vehicle.
