Robbery-With Force

An officer responded to a report of a robbery. The victim said she was walking on the sidewalk when a suspect tried to grab her property. The suspect then struck the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect fled with an accomplice.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victims said their previously locked house was broken into. Multiple items were stolen from the house. Crime Scene Investigators processed the crime scene.

Officers responded to a report of a vandalism to a bus stop. The witness said he saw a suspect use an unknown object to break the glass at a MUNI bus stop. The suspect then fled the scene with an accomplice.

Driving With Suspended Driver License-Expired Registration-Cited

Officers stopped a vehicle that had expired registration tabs. A record check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, expired registration, and not updating the driver’s address.

THURSDAY OCTOBER, 9 2014

Robbery with a Knife

20th Ave and Irving St
Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The victim said the suspect walked past her and grabbed her lunch bag. The victim held on to her bag. During the ensuing struggle the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. The victim released the bag and the suspect ran away with it. An officer detained a man who closely matched the description. The victim however said the detained man was not the suspect, and therefore the man was released from custody.
Suspect: Hispanic male, 5’6, between 20 and 29 years old, 140 lbs. LSW: Black “SF” baseball hat, blue plaid shirt and baggy blue jeans. Mustache and “Pencil thin beard”

A victim walked into Taraval Station to report a dog bite to her dog. The victim was sitting on a bench with her dog when a woman pulled-up in a car and opened the door. An unleashed dog exited and ran up to the victim’s dog. The unleashed dog bit the victim’s dog. The victim took her dog to a veterinarian who treated the bite. The victim contacted the suspect who agreed to pay the veterinary bill. When they met the suspect said she was only going to pay a part of the bill, gave the victim a check, and left.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. A search of the house showed no suspects inside. Officers met the victim who said she saw a broken window and therefore believed someone had broken into her home. The window was determined to be the point of entry. Multiple items were stolen from the home. Crime Scene Investigators were requested to respond.

Officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary in a church. The victim said a man used a hammer to try to break the lock off a donation box. When confronted by the victim, the suspect said he did not break the box, put the the hammer in his backpack, and tried to flee. The victim grabbed the suspect’s backpack. The suspect let go of his backpack before fleeing.
Suspect: White male, 5’8, between 60 and 70 years old, 170 lbs. LSW: cowboy hat, off white shirt, gray pants, olive skin tone, big white beard, smelt like he had not showered

Officers responded to a report of a theft from a department store. An employee said the suspect entered the store, placed merchandise items in a large bag, and fled the store without paying.

A victim walked into Taraval Station to report a vandalism. The victim said someone marked graffiti on his van that was parked in front of his residence. This was the second time someone vandalized his van.

A victim walked into Taraval Station to report a suspicious person. The victim was walking home from school when an unknown man followed her in his car. The man took photos of the victim with a cell phone. The victim entered a store to get away from the suspect and called her parents to pick her up. The parents arrived and transported the victim home.

400 Wawona St and 15th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a death. The daughter of the deceased said her mother was in a bathroom. The daughter heard a loud bang coming from the bathroom and checked to see what happened. The daughter found her mother unresponsive. Paramedics arrived and declared her dead. There were no signs of foul play.

FRIDAY – OCTOBER 10, 2014

Officers responded to a report of a battery in a MUNI train. The victim and her friend were waiting at a MUNI stop when the suspect approached her. The suspect asked her if she wanted to buy marijuana and the victim declined. The victim and the suspect boarded a MUNI train. The suspect sat next to the victim and then punched the victim three times in the face with a closed fist. The suspect exited and fled.
Suspect: White Male, 5’9, between 45 and 50 years old, 200 lbs, white hair. LSW: Black Cap or beanie, grey zipper hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans. Last seen running westbound towards 46th Ave on Judah St

Battery-Trespassing

200 Winston Dr
Officers responded to a report of a battery at at a grocery store. Two suspects were already detained by SF State University campus police. The victim-who worked at the store, asked the suspects to leave because they were banned from the store. The suspects began to leave but suspect 1 picked up a merchandise. The victim stopped the suspects to get the item back. Suspect 1 retaliated by punching the victim in the face. The suspects then fled and were later stopped by other employees and the campus Police. Suspect 1 was cited for battery and suspect 2 was cited for trespassing.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim had left the house and upon return he discovered that the back door was open. The victim noticed multiple items missing from his downstairs bedroom. Officers determined the back door was the point of entry and exit.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim said someone broke into his home and stole multiple items. The officer noticed the lock to the front door was removed. No property from upstairs floor was taken. The point of entry was the front door and the point of exit was the garage door.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. When the victim arrived home, the victim noticed the front door was unlocked. The house had been burglarized. All the windows and other doors were however locked. Multiple items had been stolen. Crime Scene Investigators were notified to respond.

Officers responded to a report of a burglar. When the victim returned home after picking up her kids from school she saw her house was ransacked. Multiple items were taken. Officers determined the point of entry and exit was the back window. A neighbor had seen a suspect in the alley behind the house.
Suspect: Asian Male, 5’8, between ages 18-19, 135 lbs, black hair. LSW: black hoodie with unknown scrip writing on it.

Officer responded to a report of a burglary. The victim’s bicycle had been stolen from his garage. There were no signs of forced entry and therefore the point of entry and exit could not be determined.

An officer saw the suspect sitting on a sidewalk. The officer knew and recognized the suspect from previous contacts. A record check revealed the suspect had numerous arrest warrants. Therefore the suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a fight. The suspect showed signs of intoxication and became agitated and disruptive. A record check of the suspect revealed he had an arrest warrant. The suspect was therefore arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a theft. The victim’s bicycle was left unattended inside a gated entry. When the victim returned, his bicycle was missing. The victim said his neighbors often leave the gate open with a cinder-block. The point of entry and exit was determined to be the front gate with no signs of forced entry.

Officers responded to a report of a vandalism. The victim went to check on his vacant house and noticed the windows were broken and shot with a BB gun.

A victim walked into Taraval Station to report a vandalism. The victim returned home and noticed damage to her front door lock. No entry was made into her home.

A victim walked into Taraval Station to report a fraud. The victim tried to finance a car purchase at a dealership when he saw that unauthorized charges were made according to his credit report.

Death Report

Lake Merced Blvd and Middlefeild Dr
Officers responded to a report of a found dead body. A group of witnesses encountered a second group of witnesses who said they were scared of what they saw in a ravine. The witnesses went down into the ravine to investigate and saw an unresponsive body. Responding officers found an encampment in the ravine. Medical examiners arrived and took custody of the deceased.

An officer responded to a report of a burglary at a business. The owner found the front door open when she arrived. She conducted an inventory check to see if anything was stolen. The point of entry and exit was the front door.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim had left his home locked and secured earlier in the day. When he returned, the front door was left open. Officers checked the inside and found no suspects. The victim saw one of his belongings was missing. The point of entry was the window and the point of exit was the front door.

A woman walked into Taraval Station to report a fraud. She received a phone call from a company that claimed she owed them money for their services. The woman said she never had previous contact with the company nor did she give someone else permission to use her personal information.

Speeding-Driving Under the Influence-Probation Violation-Arrested

Sunset Blvd and Ocean Ave
Officers stopped a vehicle for traveling above the posted speed limit. The driver showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. A record check revealed the driver was on probation for driving under the influence (DUI). A field sobriety test was conducted and the driver failed. The driver was arrested for DUI and probation violation.

Officers stopped a vehicle for turning left against a red light. A record check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The officers cited the driver for the turning violation and for driving with a suspended license.

A man walked into Taraval station to report a vandalism to his residential property. He saw one of his windows had been broken by a BB gun pellet. He did not know who could have done it.

300 San Benito Way
A woman walked into Taraval station to report a fraud. A suspect contacted the woman claiming to be someone the woman knew. The suspect asked the woman to wire transfer money. The woman complied believing the suspect was the person she knew. When the suspect asked for money again, the woman went to a store to complete the wire transaction. The store manager however immediately warned the woman that she was being scammed. The woman contacted the person whom the suspect was impersonating and found out the person did not ask the woman for money.

Speeding-Driving Under the Influence-No Drivers License-Cited

Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision. Officers noticed one of the involved drivers had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and showed signs of intoxication. The driver was being treated for his injuries by the paramedics and therefore no field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was transported to a hospital for his injuries. Based on the driver exhibiting signs of intoxication, he was arrested for DUI and not having a California driver’s license.

Officers stopped a vehicle with a broken headlight. A record check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was cited for driving with a broken headlight and a suspended license.

 

MONDAY – OCTOBER, 13 2014

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim returned home and noticed his two bicycles missing from a shared garage. The victim shares the garage with housemates. The housemates said they made sure the garage door was closed. No obvious points of entry or exit could be determined.

An officer responded to a report of a theft at a department store. While watching a live-feed surveillance video, store security saw a known shoplifter inside. The suspect took multiple merchandise items and fled the store without paying. Security tried to stop the suspect but he ran away.
Suspect: African American Male, 5’10, between ages 30 and 40, 190 lbs with blonde hair

A victim walked into Taraval station to report a theft from his residence. Multiple belongings were stolen from the victim’s house. The victim believed the suspect was his roommate’s brother because the brother spent the night and as a result had access to the victim’s belongings. The victim demanded the suspect return his belongings. The suspect complied by leaving the belongings on the victim’s porch.
Suspect: White Male, 5’6, between ages 20 and 22, 160 lbs, black hair

Officers responded to a report of a group of males unlawfully riding their skateboards on a sidewalk. When the officers arrived the skateboarders said they will leave the area and never come back. The reportee later called and claimed the skateboarders damaged her gate while they were riding on the sidewalk earlier. Officers did not see any specific damage. They noticed however the gate was old, weathered, and rusted.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim said someone broke into his bakery in the middle of the night. The suspect then stole money from a metal cabinet. The front door appeared damaged, and therefore it was likely the burglar’s point of entry and exit.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim returned home and saw his front door was pried open. Many items were missing from the home. The point of entry was through the front door. Crime Scene Investigators were notified to respond.

Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. The victim said she left her home in the morning. She believed her house was locked and secured except the garage door that may not have been closed all the way. When the victim returned home, she found her garage door opened and her bicycle missing from the garage.

Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. The house was ransacked and multiple items were missing. The front door was pried open and determined it to be the point of entry. Crime Scene Investigators were notified to respond.

Officers were flagged down by an employee of a connivance store. The employee had caught a suspect who stole a merchandise. Officers detained the suspect and determined a misdemeanor shoplifting occurred. The employee recovered the merchandise, and refused to place the suspect under citizen’s arrest for misdemeanor shoplifting. As a result, the suspect was released at the scene by the officers.

Death Report

Officers responded to a report of a death.Officers met SF paramedics at the scene. The paramedics pronounced the unresponsive person deceased. The freinds of the deceased had gone to check on their elderly friend and found her unresponsive. There were no obvious signs of foul play. The Medical Examiner arrived and took custody of the corpse.
