Vehicle Burglary – Possession of Stolen Property Vandalism to Vehicle – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary that was in progress. The witness reported that there was suspicious activity in the parking spot and the suspect was observed appearing and disappearing from view. Shortly after, two suspects were observed fleeing with one on foot and the other in a vehicle.
Responding officers located the first suspect who was fleeing on foot and was successfully detained without incident. The second suspect had parked his vehicle in a parking spot and the officers attempted to detain him by pulling over and approaching him. However, the suspect immediately drove towards the officer’s vehicle, causing the officers to drive out of harm’s way, and fled the area. A search of the first suspect revealed that he was in possession of stolen property and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

1800 Irving St
An officer responded to a report of a suspect who was swinging a stick around people. Responding officers located the suspect, who appeared as reported and who was also observed to be highly agitated and restless. The suspect was detained and placed into the back of a patrol vehicle where he repetitively kicked at the windows. A search of the suspect also revealed a box cutter and glass pipe often used for smoking drugs. A witness came forward and stated that the suspect had also smashed a large piece of granite on the floor. Further investigation revealed that the destroyed granite was part of the Aids Monument, which had cost over $4000.00. The suspect was arrested.
