Residential Burglary – Forced Entry

Officers responded to the scene regarding a possible burglary. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a woman who stated that her front door and bedroom door appeared to be kicked in by an unknown suspect. The woman stated that she left her residence in the afternoon with the front door and bedroom door locked and closed. Upon returning to the residence in the morning the front door was open and the bedroom door was kicked in.

An officer responded to the scene regarding a burglary. Upon arriving to the scene the officer was met by a man who stated that he left his home locked and secured. The man returned home later in the evening and discovered that his front door was unlocked. The man entered the apartment and found that it had been ransacked. The man left one his bedroom windows open. The unknown suspect stole items from the apartment.

Malicious Mischief – Tire Slashing

A man came to Taraval Station to report an unknown suspect slashed all four of his tires on his vehicle. The man stated that he parked his vehicle on the street in good condition. Upon returning to his vehicle he discovered that all four of his tires were cut. The suspect is believed to be an ex-employee.

Apartment Burglary – Unlawful Entry

000 Font Boulevard

Officers responded to the scene regarding a burglary report. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a two men that stated that their apartment had been burglarized. One of the men was the last to leave the apartment before the holiday and stated that he locked the front door but did not check all the windows. The second roommate was the first to return home and observed that one of the windows was left slid open. He then looked around the apartment and discovered that several items were stolen by verifying with his other roommates over the phone. The point of entry and exit is believed to be the window that was left open as there was no damage to the front door.

Officers responded to the scene regarding a report of a burglary. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a man in the garage apartment area of the residence. The man stated he left his home in the morning locked but left the security gate unlocked. Upon returning home he discovered that items were missing from his apartment. The door to his apartment was pried open.

Petty Theft with Prior Conviction – Trespassing – Arrest

An officer was dispatched to the scene regarding a shoplifter being held in custody. Upon arriving to the scene the officer was met by a loss prevention agent. The loss prevention officer stated that while he was conducting Closed Circuit Television surveillance observed and recognized a man who was caught from a previous shoplifting incident at that department store. The man was seen placing items into his paper bag and walked passed open registers without making an attempt to pay for any of the merchandise. The man was stopped and detained outside by the loss prevention agent. The loss prevention agent stated that the man had signed a trespass notification earlier in the year which prohibited the man from returning to that department store. The loss prevention agent contacted police and a computer query revealed that the man was arrested before for petty theft. The man was arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

An officer responded to a call regarding a theft. Upon arriving at the scene the officer was met by a woman who stated that her property was stolen from her workstation. The woman stated that she went on break and left her apron containing her belongings. Upon returning from her break she put her apron back on and discovered that her belongings were missing. She notified the store manager and saw the suspect take the items from her apron on the surveillance camera.
Suspect: Black Male, 5’8”, 165 lbs, between the ages of 40 – 50 years old, LSW: Tan “Kango” Hat, black jacket, blue jeans, white shoes

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2013

Burglary – Unlawful Entry

300 West Portal Avenue

Officers in full police uniform and driving a marked patrol vehicle were dispatched to the scene regarding a theft of a bicycle. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a woman who stated that she left her apartment and upon returning home she discovered that her road bicycle was missing from the garage. The bicycle was left unlocked inside the apartment buildings secured garage. The woman did not give permission to anyone to take the bicycle.

An officer was dispatched to a department store regarding a theft. Upon arriving at the scene the officer was met by a loss prevention agent who stated that an unknown suspect entered the store and went to a clothes rack. The suspected grabbed five polo shirts and ran out of the store without attempting to stop and pay for the items.
Suspect: Black Male, 5’8”, between the ages of 16 – 18 years old, black hair, LSW: black hoodie, white t-shirt, blue jeans, thin build

Officers responded to the scene regarding a shoplifter. Upon arriving to the scene the officer was met by a loss prevention agent. The loss prevention agent stated that he observed a man through the security camera’s place 4 pairs of jeans into a brown paper bag. The man proceeded to walk past several staffed registers and walk out of the store. The loss prevention agent approached the man and identified himself and a loss prevention agent and brought the man back into the store. The man admitted that he took the jeans without paying. The police were contacted and had the loss prevention agent fill out a citizen’s arrest form. The man was cited and released.

Officers responded to the scene regarding a theft at a department store. Upon arriving at the scene the officers were met by a woman who worked at the store. She was conducting inventory of items in the store when she discovered that two drawers were completely empty. The woman went into the backroom and checked the security cameras and observed two unknown suspects enter the store with a large shopping bag. The unknown suspects proceeded to the drawers and took the items out of the drawer and placed the items into their shopping bag. The unknown suspects then walked past all open and attended registers making no attempt to pay for the items concealed in their bag and exited the store.
Suspect 1: Black Female, 5’6”, 140 lbs, between the ages of 18 – 25 years old, black hair, brown eyes, LSW: black baseball cap, blue hooded sweatshirt, white pants, black shoes.
Suspect 2: Black Male, 6’0”, 160 lbs, between the ages of 18 – 25 years old, black hair, brown eyes, LSW: black jacket, black jeans.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having a headlight out. Upon running a computer query on the license plate the officer discovered that the vehicles registration was expired. The officer made contact with the driver and upon running a computer query on the driver the officer discovered that the drivers license was expired. The driver was cited for having a headlight out, having expired vehicle registration and driving with a expired license.

Robbery with Gun

An officer in full uniform was flagged down by a man that was robbed at gunpoint by two unknown suspects. Upon arrival at the scene, the man stated that he was walking and noticed a car drive past him and proceed to make a U-turn to approach him. Both suspects approached the man and reached for his cell phone. Suspect one then lifted his shirt and revealed a black semi-automatic handgun in his waistband. The man put his hands in the air while suspect one grabbed his backpack containing his belongings. Both suspects returned to the vehicle and drove off eastbound. Suspect 1: Black Male, 6’0, 170 lbs, Black hair, between ages of 20 – 23 years old, LSW: Black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, carried semi-automatic handgun in waistband. Suspect 2: Black Male, 6”2, 180 lbs, Black hair, between ages of 20 – 23 years old, LSW: Grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans. Suspect vehicle: Black Toyota Rav 4 F1.

Officers in full police uniform in a marked police vehicle responded to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers met a man that stated the two doors in his backyard had pry marks in the door jam. The man stated that he was not home when the incident occured.

Theft – Shoplifting

An Officer in full uniform responded to shoplifting incident. Upon arrival, officer met a loss prevention agent and he stated that a man was placing clothing from the rack into his own personal shopping bag. The man bypassed all open registers and failed to pay for the items in his bag. He then exited the store and was followed by the loss prevention agent. The loss prevention agent observed the man placing the contents of his bag into a vehicle. He then returned to Macy’s and selected an item off of the rack and placed it into his bag and he exited the store again bypassing all staffed registers and failed to pay for the items in his bag. The loss prevention agents stopped the man and escorted him back into the Loss prevention office where they recovered some of the store’s property. The man complied and was escorted to his vehicle and recovered the outstanding property. The man was arrested and booked at County jail.

Officers in full police uniform were dispatched to a theft report at a local store. Upon the officer’s arrival, they met the store manager and told that an employee of the store left an item unattended on the front counter near the self check-out stand. A suspect came into the store from the main entrance and took the item and concealed it in his hoodie and walked out of the store.

Officers in full police uniform and driving a marked police vehicle were dispatched to a theft report at a local store. Upon arrival at the scene, officers met a loss prevention agent and he stated that a man walked past several open registers and exited the store with stolen items in his possession. The man was then stopped by another loss prevention agent and was brought back to the loss prevention office. The man was cited for charges and was released at the scene.

Officers in full police uniform responded to a call of an auto boost report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with a man who identified as the caller and stated that his vehicle was broken into over night. Officers observed that the rear passenger side window of his vehicle was smashed and his backpack was missing from the backseat of the vehicle, which contained several credit cards. The man stated that the suspect had accessed his credit card at a gas station somewhere and he cancelled his credit cards.

A woman came to the Taraval Police Station to file a fraud report. She stated that she received a phone call from her credit card company regarding unusual activities on her credit card. She checked her recent purchases and discovered an unknown suspect made a few fraudulent charges on her credit card. She did not lose her credit card nor gave anyone permission to make any purchases.

Arson

Officers in full police uniform responded to meet with SFFD on regards to an arson call. The fire was extinguished prior to the officer’s arrival. Upon the officer’s arrival, a man approached the officers and stated that he was awoken when he heard the sound of a man urinating on the sidewalk beside him. The suspect finished urinating and he took a seat beside him and saw that he was leaning over a bush in front of the house. Then another man walked past both of them and the man saw the suspect immediately get up and quickly walked away to westbound. The man believed that the suspect was acting suspiciously and the presence of the third man frightened the suspect away. The man stated that the bush that the suspect was leaning over immediately went up in flames and met with the owner of the house. The owner did not see the incident that started the fire but was extinguished once he saw his bush on fire. However, upon viewing the wall of the houses, officers could see a charred bush and a discolored brick wall.

Residential Burglary – Unlawful Entry

An officer responded to the scene regarding a burglary. Upon arriving to the scene the officer was met by a woman who stated that she left her home in the afternoon and upon returning to her home she noticed that an unknown suspect had opened the unlocked back bedroom window and entered her home. The unknown suspect broke the bedroom door but could not get it opened.

Officers responded to a supermarket in regards to a loss prevention security guard holding a shoplifter. Upon their arrival the officers were met by the loss prevention security guard who stated that he observed the woman in the store. The loss prevention agent saw the woman fill to-go boxes with food and take some items off the shelf and walked out of the store. The loss prevention agent followed the woman out onto the sidewalk and identified himself as store security. The woman was stopped without incident and walked back into the back office of the store. The police were contacted and the loss prevention filled out a citizen’s arrest form The woman was cited and released.

Officers responded to the scene regarding a shoplifter. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a loss prevention agent who stated that while she was observing the store via Closed Circuit Television she noticed a woman from previous shoplifting incidents. The loss prevention agent made contact with another loss prevention agent that was on the sales floor and to keep the woman under observation. The woman chose a jacket off the shelf and concealed it under the red coat she was wearing. The woman then passed all open and attended registers without making an attempt to pay for the item that she had concealed. The loss prevention agent stopped the woman outside of the store without incident. The police were contacted and the loss prevention agents filled out a citizen’s arrest form. The woman was cited for shoplifting.

Residential Burglary – Forced Entry

An officer in full uniform responded to a residential burglary. Upon arrival at the scene the officer met a family of three which stated that their house had been ransacked after returning from being out of town for the holiday. Items from home were missing. The point of entry and the exit route was determined to be the garage door and rear entry gate.

Officers in full police uniform in a marked patrol vehicle were dispatched to a battery incident involving two security guards that had occurred. When the officers arrived at the scene the officers met two security guards that stopped and seized the suspect that refused to leave the library because he was smoking in the library. Upon the seizure, the man struggled and ignored commands from the police officers and slowly worked his to the door. Officers requested further assistances over the radio and stopped the man. The man was arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

Officers in full police uniform were dispatched to an assault incident. Upon arrival, officers met with two security guards. One of the security guard reported that while he was on patrol during the night and was then assaulted by three white males. The three suspects walked up to him and punched him numerous times. The security guard did not remember which of the suspects was holding the baseball that had attacked him and did not know why he was targeted in this assault. The second security guard heard the “scuffle” and quickly ran over for assistance. The three suspects fled the scene.

Theft – Pickpocket
Officers in full uniform were dispatched to the scene regarding a man who lost his wallet from two suspects. Upon arriving to the scene, the man told the officer that first suspect used a shopping cart and bumped into the man’s leg. Then the second suspect walked behind him and stole the man’s wallet. The man realized that he lost his wallet when he went inside his car and believed that it was unusual that both suspects were involved with the taking of his wallet. The man then drove back and saw suspect two in front of the shop and called the police. Officers were unable to locate the subject upon search of the area.
Suspect 1 is unknown. Suspect 2: White Male, 5’”, 250 lbs, Brown hair, between the ages of 40 – 50 years old, LSW: brown beard, white t-shirt, unknown colored pants, pushing green metal flat cart with two boxes.

Malicious Mischief – Graffiti, Real or Personal Property

An officer in full uniform responded to a report of graffiti on church property. Upon arrival at the scene the officer met a woman who stated the approximate time of the incident and directed the officer the areas where the graffiti is located. Officer observed the nativity scene located in front of the church and observed that both locations had identical symbols spray painted in green paint. The woman wanted this incident documented and the suspect is unknown.

An officer responded to the residential burglary. Upon arriving on the scene the officer was met by a man who stated that his apartment was burglarized. The man left his home in the afternoon and upon returning to his home he noticed that an unknown suspect had pried open his front door. The suspect stole files from the man’s home.

Officers responded to an auto boost which just occured. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by other officers who were on the scene and they stated that a witness pointed out the suspect that broke into one of the vehicles. The witness stated that he left the vehicle locked and upon returning to the vehicle he discovered that the rear passenger window was shattered and his aunt’s purse was stolen. The witness saw the suspect run away from his vehicle and then chased after him while on the phone with 911. The witness saw the suspect dump his backpack under a red car. The suspect was detained by police and transported back to the scene to conduct a cold show. The suspect was positively identified.  The suspect was arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

Officers were dispatched to the scene regarding an attempted robbery. Upon arriving at the scene the officers were met by a man who stated that he was inside his home and heard a loud bang at his front door. The man yelled out “hey” and heard the suspect run away. The man walked over to his front door and noticed it was damaged.

Driving with No Drivers License – No Seatbelt- Cited

An officer was driving eastbound and observed the driver of a vehicle driving without his seatbelt. The officer affected a traffic stop on the vehicle. As the officer made contact with the driver, the driver advised the officer that he did not have a driver’s license. A computer check confirmed no drivers license was issued to the man. The driver was cited for not driving with a seatbelt and not having a drivers license.

Officers in full uniform and driving a marked patrol vehicle when they observed a vehicle traveling westbound with a broken headlight. The officers effected a traffic stop on the vehicle and the officers made contact with the driver. The officer ran a records check of the driver and discovered that the driver was driving with a suspended license. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and driving with a broken headlight.
